The Shield-Maiden of Camelot

By Clara M. Everhart

Beneath the banners of Camelot, in the shadow of Arthur's great knights, walks a girl the legends forgot.

Elowen of the Vale was raised in secret by a hedge-healer who pulled her, near-drowned and nameless, from a flooded ford the night King Uther died. Sixteen years later, disguised as a squire and armed with a blade she was never meant to touch, Elowen rides for Camelot, chasing rumours of the mother who abandoned her: a sorceress, a queen, or perhaps something far more dangerous.

As Arthur's fellowship rises to glory, Elowen fights her way from stable yard to tournament field, crossing paths with Merlin, Lancelot, Tristram, Perceval and the treacherous Mordred, all while hiding a truth that could unmake the Round Table itself. But magic leaves marks, and old enchantments do not stay buried. When the quest for the Holy Grail tears Camelot's brotherhood apart, Elowen must choose between the family she has built among the knights and the blood that calls her toward Morgan le Fay's shadow.

A sweeping tale of steel, sorcery and stolen destiny, told alongside the fall of Camelot, for readers who want their knights bold, their magic dangerous, and their heroines carrying swords of their own.
