As Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel gears up to celebrate its 191st Christmas, Chef Garry joins forces with the engineering team to build a train set that runs around the lobby, while the pastry team constructs a gingerbread village that seems to get bigger every year. This is Christmas on a grand scale: designer cocktails, thousands of turkey dinners, and booked-up festive afternoon teas. This year, though, there is one potential killjoy: the hotel's restoration of the front facade is due to finish, but they're running behind.
