The Shark Of Chicago
Set in mid-1980s Chicago, The Shark of Chicago follows the gritty underground world of competitive pool, street hustling, and gangster's influence.
The story centers around a pool tournament worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money to the winner. And even more to Chicago's underground gambling kingpin.
The players in this competition have exceptional skills earned by navigating the seedy and smoky pool halls throughout cities like Chicago, Kansas City, Detroit, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, to name a few.
There is one player whose suave, debonair style represents the old-school tradition, but his skills have earned him the respect and admiration of all those who want to be recognized as the best.
The other player represents the new generation. His brash, in-your-face style is fueled by the swagger of hip-hop's boast and braggadocio. But it would be a grave mistake to underestimate his skills as a pool player.
The third person, connected by blood, was a rising star athlete until a knee injury and the deaths of his mother and grandmother set him on a dangerous path of gangsterism and self-destruction.
The story paints a vivid picture of the entanglement of gang members and organized crime controlled by Chicago's underground gambling scene.
It highlights how talent, pride, and reputations collide in a world where every game could change a life. While the prize money is a part of the draw, the ultimate prize is to be crowned The SHARK OF CHICAGO because there can only be one.
