a beautiful finish

I was eagerly awaiting this book to see how Sonya and her friends would finally kick out the evil Hester Dobbs from that gorgeous manor full of friendly and helpful spirits, trapped by that curse Hester set so long ago. So I am very happy I got the chance to listen to this last book on audio so I could be immersed in the story. Brittany Pressley does a great job in bringing the story to life, both the sweet moments as Sonya and Cleo make the manor their own (a big step in lessening Hester's power and making her mad enough to make mistakes) as well as the burgeoning romances with Trey and Owen and the horror bits which I must admit, Hester does get quick creative in some of her hauntings, quite horrible really (and I was really stressed when she goes after the pets, though none of them were killed and they did do some truly brave things). I can see why some people were a bit disappointed with the way there were lots of bits of the characters just living their lives but I love the way Nora Roberts makes all of them so interesting with their careers, hobbies, and just regular relationship things that are just as important as facing an insane ghost and breaking a curse to free the trapped brides. Plus I really liked the mirror travel in this one and really getting to know the brides and what they dreamed their lives would be like before they were killed and had their rings stolen. It may have been a bit rushed at the end with the defeat of Hester Dobbs (it is a whole right time and must be done before Hester realizes they have the rings) but it was still exciting and tense fun for me. And of course you get the romantic end that Nora Roberts has right so I loved this book and it left me with a sweet happy bubble. It was a well done audiobook and a fun ending to an exciting trilogy. I am very glad I got the chance to listen to this! And I cannot wait for my next Nora Roberts fix because they are always interesting, romantic and have a happy ending. Plus usually there is an adorable dog and someone who likes to drink coke. :)
