The Sense of Smell is packed with loads of scientific, interesting and fun facts!

True Books always have a couple of true/false questions in the front, but only one of them is factual and the reader will actually have to read the book to find out which one is true and which one is full of baloney! There are probably a lot of things you know about the sense of smell and many unusual ones you have no idea existed. For example, did you know that "all people except identical twins have their own individual scent?" Probably most people aren't aware of that fact, including me. The sense of smell can keep you safe. If you smelled gas in your home you'd probably rush outside and call 911 for assistance. On the other hand, if you smelled a batch of brownies baking, the sense of smell could make your mouth water. YUM! There are many very interesting facts in this book. Smells can trigger memories, odors are made of molecules, the senses of smell and taste work together, smell can "affect our mood and behavior," we are attracted to people by their smell, there are seven basic odors . . . aren't there a LOT of things to learn about the sense of smell? This wonderful, informative book is peppered with photographs, fun facts, a "Perfume Time Line," brief statistical information, important words, an index, and additional recommended book and web sites. Fact: True Books are fun books. Do you know at what age your sense of smell is at its best? Did you know your nose can actually get tired? If you don't know these facts, you just might want to stick your nose in this book and find out!
