In the later part of the novel, Andrea and Vivan learn, Mathew, Andrea's husband, and father of her two children Kyle and Kylie, has been a common lover of both Vivan and Andrea. The novel is about revenge, displacements, lamentations, regrets, unfulfilled desires, and love.
