By walking us through the lives of Michael Devlin and the heirs to his visionary nature, Malone provides a wonderful, incisive and carefully targeted rifle shot through the heart of our own suicidal nature. We are not, as he shows so well, separate and apart from each other or anything else in the Cosmos in any real sense. Until we come to understand this in a personal, spiritual, mystical way, our species can be counted on to exterminate itself. He provides both the motivation and means for creating the essential integration which is needed to provide an alternative path for each of us. It's a darned good read because it is well conceived, carefully crafted and equitably delivered. No one who reads it will come away disappointed.
