Sara Tafere Barnes writes and illustrates children's books. The inspiration for her artwork comes from childhood memories of celebrations, songs, dance, and storytelling in Ethiopia, where she was born. Sara currently resides in Seattle, Washington, with her daughter, who is her first audience for her children's stories. She studied Visual Arts at North Seattle.
