What happens when the monsters from your nightmares follow you home?
Luena and her six-year-old sister, Tamaia, possess a magical iron dragonfly key and a silver Whisper Whistle. When they use the key to travel to a magical realm, they discover the Shivering Loom-the massive machine that weaves the waking world's dreams-is choking on thick, gray "worry ribbons" fueled by human fears and anxieties.
The sisters manage to save the Loom with a magical song, but their escape goes terribly wrong. The magic bleeds into their mundane, suburban world. Now, ordinary shadows are twisting into grasping tree-monsters known as Shy Willows, and they are trying to break into the girls' bedroom to steal the key .
When their fairy friend Pip sends a desperate cry for help from the other side, Luena must use glowing Azure Stardust to draw a new portal right on their bedroom wall. Plunged back into the dangerous Whispering Woods, the sisters must brave a cage of glowing nightmare thorns and a terrifying, towering Moss-Troll to save their friend.
