Excellent book with lots of diagrams!!

Dilemma of squash.... Ball is coming to you at 100 miles/hour...what will you do? which shot you will play? what's your opponent's weakness? which area of court you will move in to? Quick.. Quick.. Think...This will happen to you if you will enter the court with out a knowledge of squash strategy and tactics and this is what you will learn form this book with the help of clearly described text and lots of excellent diagrams. Chapters range from, how to do drills, to playing a competitive match. If you will read this book and your opponent doesn't, there are 90% chances that you will win the match. Do not miss this book if you happen to find it some where.

Excellent Squash Book, an epiphany for me.

I have been a good player for some time, but have been very limited in my style of play by a basic lack of understanding of what I am trying to accomplish on the court. This book is almost like an epiphany for me. For the first time now when I am playing, I understand what I am trying to accomplish on the squash court. It is quick to read, easy to understand, covers all the important factors of squash that coaches have failed to enlighten me on these last thirty years, and I have a renewed vigor for the game. Yes, it is an old book, but that game is the same, and this book will really help you improve your game - if you are serious about trying to fix it - there is no easy way, you still have to work at it! Not only does it teach you a game strategy, but also covers the basics, like movement, position on the court, getting your racket in position early, etc., and explains why you need to do these things.

Play better squash in 4 simple steps.

For an older book about sport (where change in style and form can be pretty fast) this book is awesome. The authors clearly spell out a simple winning strategy that can be used at all levels of play. They provide step by step instructions with good diagrams and photographs. They even provide score sheets that can help you rate your own play against the strategy. I used these sheets to analyse the games of top pro players (Nichol, Power, and others) and found that, conscious or not, they are using the same techniques described in the book. This book definitely put into concrete words what better players and coaches have tried to show me but couldn't quite explain.
