The Secret of Bow Creek Hollow
The backpack shouldn't exist.
It has been a year since the devastating bus crash on an abandoned Ozark highway, and everyone in town believes twelve-year-old Parker's best friend, Sam, was swept away by the creek. Everyone except Parker and his quick-witted friend Maya. They have to see for themselves.
When Parker and Maya hike the closed road on the anniversary of the accident, they find Sam's mud-stained backpack propped against a rusted guardrail, tapping out a slow, deliberate signal in the mountain breeze. Inside lies Sam's worn field guide, filled with chilling handwritten warnings about the strange forces lurking in the deep woods.
Refusing to leave the truth buried, Parker and Maya venture past the point of no return and discover Bow Creek Hollow-a hidden valley populated by silent, pale-eyed strangers who move without making a sound. Stranger who may not even be human. As dark shadows track their every step through the mist, Parker and Maya must decode Sam's secret trail signs before the mountain claims them too.
They came to say goodbye to their friend, but end up saying hello to creatures of the mountain, creatures that don't want to be found.
Stories as old as the hills call Parker. The mountain has claimed him for its own.
A haunting, atmospheric mystery about loyalty, courage, and the ancient secrets buried deep in the Ozark wilderness. Survival isn't about how fast you can run.
