Fascinating story..from the very start to the last page. Absolutely fell head over heels with this heartbreaking, but also heartfelt story of Courage, love, and loss. Its full of unimaginable courage, and kindness. What is so very amazing ...that the Author, Debbie Rix, has created this story from true experiences from her Mom's experiences while living through the war in London, and having to go through evacuation of the children, being sent away from her parents, to strangers in the country. Plus, her Father was a RAF pilot, and was shot down, and was held as a POW in a camp with his crew. She had learned so much from her Fathers actual experiences. She has written this book to Honour her parents and their generation, through this story of Magda, who lives in a small German village, and Imogen, who lives in England, and is sent away to the safety of the country to escape the raging war. Little do these two girls know, or can even imagine...by pure fate, the actions of one girl, Magda, she has help seal the future of Imogene, in years to come.An Absolutely Fabulous story, very well written, relatable Characters that you find yourself rooting for, and such a personal touch, that it is written with truths from her parents experiences, diaries, and letters kept over the years ! I would give this all of 10 stars if I could. It was just a nice book to read, because of her writing, and the ability to touch your spirit, through the characters in her story.
