Very Good Read!

I bought this book from the author at the MSU Arts & Crafts Festival because I needed something to read on a plane to DC. Spur of the moment purchase that I do not regret. I get very little reading time so I hoped the novel would keep me engaged. Did it ever. I was 1/2way through the book when I reached DC. I enjoyed the story so much I didn't mind the weather delay in DC since it gave me a chance to finish.

Excellent Read

A superior effort by author Chris Zimmerman. His story pulls you one secret to the next, leaving you searching for answers. Some you will find, others you will chase beyond the final pages. This romantic tale will leave you smiling, leave you wondering, an excellent read.

A wonderfully written novel that is "pure enjoyment" to read!

In reading "The Secret Keeper" I found myself captivated by the ever progressing story line with an insatiable desire to want to read on in support of the main character "Dr. Ong" as Jim tries desperately to avenge his deceased wife. An amazing plot that takes you through the familiar surroundings of the Michigan landscape on a whirlwind ride of political corruption, greed, vengeance and yes...love. A testament on how the desire and determination of one person can prevail against those who are far more experienced and uninhibited with manipulation and selfishness. In spite of his conscience to remain moral and to do the right thing, Jim is determined to see his cause through to the end even if it means he has to bend a few rules along the way. A wonderful story that will certainly cause you to think about the love ones around you and what you might say if you ever have the chance to tell them how you feel after you are gone. As a word of caution; be prepared for a reading binge! Once you pick this book up you will not be able to put it down. Unlike some books that will put you to sleep, you will find yourself under the night light at 2:00 AM wanting to read on to see what awaits Jim on the next page...it's that good! What a screenplay this would make!!!

The Secret-Keeper is wonderful. The imagery is fantastic. Zimmerman uses such creative similies to draw you into his vision. There is laugh-out-loud real life humor sprinkled through the story. Everyone can connect with the characters, we've all longed for love, success, acceptance, and even revenge. This books makes you wonder - to what lengths would I go to satisfy my desire. Whether we admit it or not we all have a secret...

Another Great Northern Michigan Story Full of Interesting Plot Twists

As a northern Michigan bookseller I am always delighted to discover Michigan-based books to recommend to readers. The Secret-Keeper meets this challenge with an interesting storyline and with the type of characters which you could possibly meet any day of the week. Characters complete with surprising personality quirks and their own hidden secrets which the author strategically dishes out when you least expect it. And just when you think you've got the people figured out they head off to the northern woods to hunt and you get to experience first-hand some harrowing encounters with the wildlife from the woods as well as those from the towns and cities which populate this story. A tense thriller woven with revenge, political and corporate corruption, where the good guys are sometimes a tad bit bad themselves, and all of it is balanced and tempered by the great underlying story of love. Get comfortable and cozy in for another good read from Zimmerman.
