I don't like nagging!

I borrowed this from a friend. I was shocked when he said he's never read it. I LOVED it! I've been nagging him for a week now to please read it. It has some of my favorite fantasy writers and some of my favorite stories from them. Some authors I've never tried but I have after this. I'm so glad i did.

What a huge disappointment

I was so excited to order this book as it contained many established authors that I was a fan of, including the editor Mr. Peter Beagle. I was horrified to find that most of the stories were not up to par. This is type of fantasy that goes for the Middle Earth, fairies in the forest, etc. It has a reprint of "Bears Discover Fire" which I have read in 3 different Anthologies. One exception: the closing story about a woman looking for a purpose and buying a "magical" monkey show for a dollar turned out to be both enchanting, and extremely well written. Very impressive story by Kij Johnson. Maybe you can find the story somewhere else.
