A great theory on the true meaning of Oddyssey
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
The way Pillot analyzes the route that Ullusse followed to get back to his island and wife (after the end of the Trojan war), is so convincing, that after completing reading this book, I felt very much sure that his theory is correct. The writer believes that the real purpose of Oddyssey is to be used as a guideline for the Greeks on how to travel to the north Atlantic islands, written in a coded way so that other nations could not understand it. Thus , all info are hidden inside the book, under mythological cover and poetic words. Pillot manages to bring this info on the surface, to decode Oddyssey and finally describe in details the hero's long trip to Ithaca. This book is definitely suggested for any one who loves ancient Greek history-mythology and admires ancient Greek culture and civilization.
