Three friends…one murder

6/23/25-6/29/25 The Seaside Library by Brenda Novak - a stand alone novel about a summer island with three friends who have a secret they all share regarding a ruder that happened 15 years ago. One got married since, but unhappily and still lives on the island. Another still lives on the island and inherited her aunt’s house and the library her aunt cared for over the years. The last moved away and lived away for all those years and just recently returned to help take care of her grandma whom she lived with growing up. One I has more to add to the secret and suspect to the murder. The body of the murder victim has been found after all these years placing even greater suspect on this person. The murder victim’s family is adding fuel to that suspect. The marriage falls apart. The one friend admits that she’s always had deep feelings for the suspect. And the other friend seems to be floundering and lost without the other two as the threesome they always were. Please she’s having conflicting feelings for the suspect too. The plot thickens which I cannot reveal without spoiling it for all… let’s just say… it gets complicated, but it also gets rewarding. Definitely so much worth the read and I really didn’t want to put it down.Brenda never disappoints, keeping us on our toes as every pages turns a new corner.

I LOVE All of the Brenda Novak Books I.ve Read, But this One was Exceptional for Me!! Loved How the 3 Main Characters were Best of Friends as Teenagers, then All Kept a Secret and were Loyal Friends into Adulthood, each having the others backs . Suspenceful , Intriguing, and LOTS of Unexpected Surprises- I LOVED It!! A MUST Read !! Ann-Marie C.
