I stumbled across this book ten or fifteen years ago, and was enchanted by the art and the story. Every couple years I see it on my bookshelf and pull it down, and read it cover to cover. It always makes me happy. A wonderful read, my highest recommendation for children and adults.
How Trolls migrated from Norway to North America
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Trolls are usually associated with Norway and their stories are deeply rooted in Norwegian folklore. This book establishes the connection between the Scandinavian trolls and those that have been sighted (real and imaginary) in Northern America. The story takes the reader with the Trolls on their travels and adventures as they seek out a new homeland. It makes for enjoyable reading and addresses all who are young at heart. The author, Odd Bjerke, is eminently qualified to tell the story as he himself has spent most of his life in the wilderness as a survival expert. He would have had ample opportunity to understand what makes Trolls tick.
