Ms. Anthony has written an engrossing story of Lofie Louise. Once I started reading this book, I just literally couldn't put it down. This story was so fascinating to me because I remember my grandmother talking about "Lofie Preslar" when I was a little girl. Her mother had known Lofie in the communities of Campti and Coushatta, Louisiana. She also had the newspaper clipping of her execution. While giving the facts of the strange situations and horrible murders, Ms. Anthony was also sensitive in her presentation. She made the book a great story, not just a gathering of facts and dates. She depicted a Lofie that was despicable, but also could touch your heart. This was a really interesting true crime book.
