This book tells not only history, but a personal account of the Nehru family. The book was easy to read. It is informative to a western reader who may not know about her part in India's history, including her post at the UN. I found the personal observances reference to various family members going to prison and while in prison, something only a family member could relate that shows the human side of their family. There are many other personal insights to this family. I have also read A Lamp for India (forgot the suthor) which was also very good and easy to read.
