Nice selection of primary material

This book has short narratives followed by well chosen 10-20 page excerpts from Copernicus, Galileo, Descartes, Newton, and a few others. The reader gets an excellent flavor of their style of writing, the issues they were concerned about, their ideas about science, experiment, and uncertainty. I found it immensely helpful to have this book while teaching a history of science class to very bright 18 year olds.
