With Orrest Symko's Book, Audio and Video Can Be Understood

A great textbook! Want to understand everything about audio? Analog or digital? What about video? This is the book for you if you said yest to any of the questions above. Orrest Symko gratuated from the University of Oxford, and currently teaches a class at the University of Utah, while he does a lot of research. He uses the book for his class, and he knows every bit of knowledge contained within the book. The book is well written, and the figures are easy to follow. Although some things in the book are a bit dated, the things taught within the book have not changed and are completely relevant to today's technologies and questions. The book starts at the forefront of sound and accoustic technology, and goes through every aspect of audio and video, up to the digital technologies of today. The problems within the book help students understand the concepts, which concepts are explained very well. I did have the opportunity to attend Symko's class, and know the professor. He is an expert in his field of study. Unfortunaltely, the only thing missing from this book are the hands on instruction Symko gives, and the spectacular demos which he does every day to enhance the teaching and learning experience. For those, you will have to go to Salt Lake City and take the class at the University of Utah, or check out the class website... This book is a must have!!!
