Interesting, needs a volume two

I wish to provide some facts, and personal opinions, which may help you to decide whether or not to buy this book. To begin with, if you haven't figured it out yet, the science of melanin is not a topic which leans itself well to the layman. The terminology itself will be challenging, quite possibly insurmountable, to those without a formal background in physiology. Before reading this book, I took a stab at the writings of other melanologists (a name I just made up for lack of any other). Authors such as King and Barnes. I am also familiar with Welsing's views, having read "The Isis Papers" and heard her speak in person. This book by Moore is not as over your head as others, but it can still be a challenge. I would suggest that, if you are new to the subject of melanin, you begin with a book by Carol Barnes (actually a guy despite the first name) entitled "Melanin: The Chemical Key to Black Greatness." Moore begins his book by, probably correctly, critiquing the writings of other authors such as Barnes. But, you should still read Barnes first because he goes to the greatest lengths to write at a level the layperson can understand. Moore begins by critiquing books by the other authors I mentioned as being "deceptive because they lack a solid foundation concerning the science of melanin." He stresses the need for "documented research." Which is all well and good. But, you should know that Moore then goes on, in chapter 10 of his book, to argue that melanin is an important factor in being able to communicate with the spiritual realm. He gets into a discussion of Dark Matter, which he believes to be composed of melanin. Now, I happen to think he may be on to something here. But, treatment of all this in a book which purports to clear up the "pseudo-science" of melanin forces you into areas which others will reasonably consider "undocumented" and "without a solid foundation". So, what am I saying? Well, as you perhaps have gathered, my review of this book is ambivalent. If you have a serious desire to understand the science of melanin, particularly the metaphysical side of it, then you absolutely must buy this book. But, do not expect it to be the penultimate last word on anything. Mankind, with the possible exception of the ancient KMT-ians, has only just begun to scratch the surface of this truly fascinatin. albeit complicated, area of wisdom.

Moore to the facts (Ohio State Uni. Student)

Moore gives the pros and cons to melanin. He states that melanin only gives the human body a greater advantage to certain things, but just because other have a greater count of melanin doesn't make then superior to others. He also states that he has Afrikan-centered perspective, but that his research on the whole subject is for the better of all people. What I really like about this book is that he gives the negative affects of high melanin count. To find out what that is I think should you purchase this book.
