The Science Fair Switch: A Middle School Mystery

By Allie Shad

A missing science fair project.
An empty table.
One clue that changes everything.

Seventh grader Nico Reyes has spent months building his solar-powered water purifier for the Cedar Ridge Middle School Science Fair. If it works, he might finally prove that quiet kids can build big things too.

But minutes after check-in, Nico's project vanishes.

With judging about to begin, rumors spread fast. Some students think Nico never brought the project at all. Others blame the wrong person. Nico and his best friend Jaya must follow a trail of clues: water drops, a torn note, a strange scratch mark, a suspicious cart, and one classmate with too much to lose.

The clock is ticking.

If Nico cannot find the truth before the judges reach his empty table, his science fair dream is over.
