Historically accurate

I read this book and the story is the kind that makes you stick to reading it like glue. I couldn't get enough of it. I learned a great deal of the history involved in the story, it was just as intresting as the story line. This is what makes it a good book. Its a romance story as well as a story of a young doctor finding his way in life in a time when a doctor was not such a respected profession. I really liked teh story over all and I had to read it every day until i was done with it because i always wanted to know what would happen next. I would say that Dell Shannon is or was a very good author.
