The Sauwastika Enigma

A young couple is caught up in two mysteries. One involving a map of sorts for finding treasure hidden at the end of World War II by the Japanese. The Japanese officer entrusted with the task died an untimely death before revealing the secret places, but clues to the locations were marked on old silver coins. The second mystery they encounter was found on a scrap of paper in an old man's journal. Intrigue and mystery overshadow solving these puzzles keeping the couple braced for the many opposing forces that seek to thwart their quest for the answers. Do the two mysteries have something in common or is one leading the other off course? Background About This Book Toward the end of World War II, General Tomoyuki Yamashita, Commander of the Japanese fleet in the south Pacific, was singled out and entrusted with the mission of a lifetime: to secure all the gold, silver, diamonds and gemstones Imperial Japan had amassed from conquered peoples during the 40 previous years! This tremendous hoard worth billions was hidden, buried in numerous secret locations throughout the Philippine Islands until his capture in 1945. After the General was hung for war crimes, his personal items were divided among the few men closest in the operation that brought him down. Even the General's pocket change was divvied up as war mementos. One of two 1798 Spanish Carolus silver dollars eventually found its way into the hands of Deverough Geneveaux, an eccentric millionaire. Years later old Geneveaux, knowing he would soon die, confided a secret to Justin Teaguely, an adolescent, and then presented him with the peculiar coin and his personal leather journal. After graduating university, and beginning his own insurance fraud investigation business, Justin relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he partnered with D?edee Planch?t. Together they work all kinds of insurance fraud cases. When there are lulls, they follow treasure clues, believing all the "chop" marks on Justin's coin are some kind of map leading to Yamashita's gold!Meanwhile, a once found loose-leaf piece of paper thrust inside the old man's journal presents puzzling notations that Justin and D?edee consider might hold important information and have agreed to try to unravel them. They have no way of knowing if their search will lead them to treasure. Yet, unbeknown to them, there are those willing to do anything to keep the matter secret.
