Astutely terrific!

I have three teenagers who were getting pretty burned out with practicing for the SAT but I bought them this book and now I actually catch them reading it all the time. They think it's funny, and they're proud of how many words I can quiz them on that they can tell me the definitions for. Their little sister loves it too. She likes knowing what the older kids know. I don't know why someone didn't think of teaching this way before. Why not teach by using the kind of humor that kids love? It's like they're learning without even realizing it.

SAT World Slam...IS A GRAND SLAM!

This book is a riot! Why aren't there more SAT books on the market that are actually funny? It's not dry and academic, and I actually remember definitions. The book is great. It has little rhymes for every word that really do help me memorize new vocab words. Whoever wrote these rhymes is a genius. Buy the book, I guarantee you it will help you memorize vocab like never before.

My son loves this book!

My son has been studying so hard for his SAT exams, and the most difficult subjects for him by far have been English, punctuation, and vocabulary. When I found this book at our bookstore, I was grabbed instantly by how remarkably witty and intelligent the rhymes were. My son was skeptical at getting yet another SAT prep book, but before long, he was reading the rhymes aloud and then started singing and rapping them! For the very first time, he understands words, their definitions, and retains their meanings. We really believe in this book and will continue to recommend the SAT Word Slam to other students, parents, teachers, and tutors!

GREAT book that actually helps you learn and remember vocabulary

The front cover of this book isn't lying when it says you can rhyme your way to a better vocabulary and higher SAT scores. I have used many different books and methods to try and learn new vocabulary, but nothing ever worked. This book, though, is truly one of a kind and the rhymes are both entertaining and extremely helpful. I found myself remembering all the words that I read, and not just right after. It has been weeks since reading some of the words and they are still fresh in my mind. Truly a great book, recommend for anybody that is trying to increase their vocabulary!
