Shelley's 'Ten Life-Enhancing Concepts' is a book I recommend to many of my clients dealing with difficult issues. She has written in understandable terms her journey from negative self talk to affirming choices and behavior. Her story is an encouragement for others seeking God's best in their lives, despite painful circumstances.
A small but powerful book

This book takes the pithy (but paradoxically lifeless) saying "Life is what you make of it" and brings it to life with stories that are both revealing and inspiring. The stories encourage us to move beyond focusing on what we are - which often leads to negative thinking and destructive behavior - and instead to aim for what we can become - which is our gift to God. It has encouraged me to focus on *becoming* rather than just on *being*.
Wisdom Gained From Experience and Shared From the Heart

Shelley Maurice-Maier is a living miracle and a great testimony for the glory of God. She reveals her heart to help readers identify, relate, learn and overcome barriers blocking the way to a happy and fulfilling life. I wholeheartedly recommend THE SAMPLER. What a powerful little book to give as a gift to someone hurting or lost. Mark Stanleigh Morris
Honest and understandable

This book is gutsy and respectful about life issues common to everyone: discouragement, unmet expectations, relational difficulties, illness, and more. It has something for everyone, no matter what their station in life or their maturity level. The "10 Life-Enhancing Concepts" are principles every reader will have heard of, but this packs extra "punch" because the author speaks from personal experience and with honesty that is both heartening and challenging. I see this as a book that one can go back to again and again, and it could easily be used in a study group. I have read it twice and will probably read it again soon.
A very large book in a little package

This is a very large book in a little package. Shelley takes us through life-transforming concepts so that we might live in freedom from past hurts, discouragement, and "stinking thinking." As she says, "We reap in our lives what we sow in our minds." Do yourselves a favor and spend an hour or two allowing Shelley to enrich your thought-life and bring truth into your heart. Sue Kay
