Organized very well. Easy to read. Good pictures. I could really relate to these ladies. This is their passion and they have done a terrific job of sharing it with others through this book.
A "must have"!

From the simple to the sublime ... this book has it all! You won't find the "preachy" tone that we've come to hear so often from those who believe in repurpose, reusing, and recycling. Instead, you'll find yourself rethinking your idea of "junk". Lisa, Beth, and Amy (three women of a certain age, united in their "lust for rust) each write different chapters in the book, and the effect is that of a personal chat with a great girlfriend! The projects are manageable if you're a clutz, and very easy to execute if you have a minimum of hand-eye coordination. :-) Since I fall in the "klutz" category, I really appreciate the level of detail the gals provide. I'm lucky enough to live close enough to visit the Salvage Studio in person (they're located in Edmonds, WA -- just outside of Seattle), so I've seen the projects in the book "in real life". Do yourself a favor ... pick up a copy for yourself, and one as a gift for a friend!
Recommend it as a great gift.

Great birthday or Christmas gift for anyone interested in crafts or working with recyclable, reusable, reclaimable "junk."
A guide full of do-it-yourself projects for turning excess scrap into beautiful and functional craft

The Salvage Studio: Sustainable Home Comforts to Organize, Entertain, and Inspire is a guide full of do-it-yourself projects for turning excess scrap into beautiful and functional crafts for home, yard, or garden. From silverware hooks made of old serving utensils, to a birdbath crafted of a lampshade, to a trellis composed of disused golf clubs, these projects encourage both responsible recycling and artistic flair. Full-color photography showcases the many ideas for projects around the home, and the text offers additional tips to stimulate one's creativity and literally turn trash into treasures. Highly recommended.
Wow! I love this book!

This book is fun to read, the projects look like a blast, and I am so inspired by the photos and all the authors' great suggestions for decorating inside and out, making guests feel special, and just making life more interesting. It's all I can do to not raid my mother's silver chest and start a fork-pendant necklace THIS INSTANT. The instructions seem easy to understand and complete, and I can see where these projects(those birdhouses!!!) will be great jumping off points for transforming cast-off bits into really cool art.
