charming little book

I agree with the publisher review that says that this book is not an essential purchase but is an amusing one. I think this little-known gem is adorable. It's funny (and not at all predictable -- the ending is quite fantastic) and would make an excellent introduction to the use of a balance in Math or Science class. I recommend that you request it from your library, but you probably won't need to buy it unless your child takes a great liking to the story.
