The Sacred Secret
A dying judge. A sealed cornerstone. A secret powerful man will do anything to keep buried.
On the eve of Calvary Heights Baptist Church's centennial celebration, retired judge and former Grand Master Ambrose Whitlock leaves Pastor Caleb Harlan a cryptic final instruction:
"Begin where I first knelt. Bring a light."
As both a Baptist minister and a Freemason, Caleb knows the words point toward a lodge altar-but he has no idea what Ambrose intended him to find.
The search leads Caleb, his hospice chaplain wife Anne, and Ambrose's archivist granddaughter Lena through a darkened lodge room, a forgotten cemetery, Kansas City's Scottish Rite Temple, and finally to the cornerstone of Caleb's own church. Buried beneath the stone is evidence of a clandestine brotherhood that has operated inside the congregation for decades.
Known as the Sealed Word, the circle has used secret obligations, financial influence, and spiritual intimidation to determine who may lead, who must remain silent, and which truths the church is permitted to hear.
Now the men protecting it are watching Caleb's every move.
With his ministry, reputation, and congregation hanging in the balance, Caleb must decide whether keeping his word requires silence-or whether faithfulness to Christ demands that every hidden thing be brought into the light.
The Sacred Secret is a compelling Christian suspense novel about Freemasonry, biblical authority, institutional power, and the difference between keeping a confidence in love and using a secret to control others.
For readers who enjoy faith-centered mysteries, church intrigue, secret societies, historical clues, and stories in which truth carries a cost.
