Adam and Eve lost their immortality and were driven from Eden's garden. Before Adam was shown the door, God instructed him to continue functioning as a royal priest. He was to signal when he needed help. "Offer a sacrifice - your prayers will rise to me, and I will send angels to assist you."
Yet, Adam failed to keep evil and wickedness at bay. So, Yahweh sent a flood to cleanse the field of corruption. Post-flood, rebellion again materialized. This time at a new zenith with the Tower of Babel. Fed up with the depravity of humanity, Yahweh divorced mankind and then chose one man, Abraham, with whom He would begin again. Determined to have a Firstborn, a family, and a nation of royal priests, God patiently worked with Israel. At Sinai, Yahweh married Israel, and she immediately proved to be unfaithful. The need for the Seed promised in Genesis 3:15 continued for four thousand years. Then he came. Jesus, the Son of God, as the Son of Man, reversed the curses and righted the wrongs. As the Melchizedek, he established Yahweh's Royal Priesthood once again.
