Ally finds herself in a small desert town in the middle of nowhere. Interesting characters with intriguing stories weave a picture of Barrydale, where it feels as if everyone is running away from something. This was meant to be a stopover, an interlude in Ally's life, until she meets Russell. They are both immediately drawn to each other. Things move fast between the two of them as they fall in love under the desert sun. However, things start to get strange just as fast. Ally starts to question who Russell really is when one evening he starts behaving weirdly. After a sleepless, reality-questioning night, things calm down again as a rational explanation is found. Little does Ally know, the rollercoaster has just begun...
