The Rosary of Our Lady of Sorrows: A Guide With Meditations

The rosary Our Lady of Sorrows was first used in the city of Florence Italy by a group of devout merchants that were interested in a life of penance. Around the year 1240 they withdrew from the world and eventually were formed into the Servite Order who devoted their prayer to Our Lady of Sorrow with this rosary. The seven sorrows of Mary are taken from scripture and trace the life of Our Lady from the presentation to Our Lord being laid in the tomb. In our own times Our Blessed Mother has come to us and urged that we employ this devotion with sincerity and a will to repent and return to God. On July 2, 2001, the Holy See released the declaration approving the apparitions of Our Lady at Kibeho Rwanda. The apparitions began in 1981 at a boarding school for girls and encouraged repentance, prayer from the heart and sincere devotion
