The Road I Take is a selected grouping of poems from Samuel Hyde's poetic treasure house of nearly four hundred poems. Hyde is a versatile and prolific poet. His poetic spectrum can be divided into three segments, as follows:There are poems that are light-hearted and witty declamation on life and love , yet possessing an undertone of nostalgia, regret and lessons to be learnt from past mistakes, as in My Heart Will Hang At Dawn,There are serious poems expressing a yearning for the "good old days" and hopes for the future, as in No More Despair and in Moccasin Flat.Other poems are expressions of the beauty and wonders of Nature, time, seasons , moon and stars, and are full of praise and gratitude to the Divine Creator, as in The Greatest Poet Ever.
