The Road Beneath Mars
Mars is no place for kids to go looking for trouble.
Unfortunately, Tim Jones has always been good at finding it.
Twelve-year-old Tim has spent his entire life in New Hannibal, a tiny colony where every breath of air, every liter of water, and every hour of work matters. He knows the sound of every ventilation fan, the rules of every airlock, and exactly how much trouble you can get into before the adults start asking questions.
Then Tim and his friends discover a hidden road beneath the colony.
It leads deep underground to forgotten tunnels, impossible formations-and Amara Okafor, an elderly scientist who has been living beneath New Hannibal for decades.
She knows something the rest of the colony doesn't.
A drilling project meant to secure New Hannibal's future may instead destroy it.
To prove the danger, Tim and his friends will have to uncover a secret buried for twenty-seven years, trace the final work of Tim's dead mother, and decide when following the rules is no longer the same thing as doing what's right.
Because on Mars, mistakes don't just get you grounded.
They can get six hundred people killed.
The Road Beneath Mars is a science-fiction adventure about friendship, exploration, courage, truth, and the systems that keep people alive-perfect for readers who enjoy smart young heroes, realistic space exploration, hidden mysteries, and high-stakes survival.
