A collection of short stories which relive the glory days of punk rock. The title story follows the trials and tribulations of a university-town DIY punk band with dreams of superstardom that get flushed away after a series of hilarious catastrophies.
So, you have your classics, your best-sellers, your bits and pieces of every genre... but every bibliophile needs at least one of Jon Longhi's short story collections. This is my favorite of all of his books, most specifically for the short story that shares its' name with the title. I have read and re-read this book at least a dozen times, each time laughing out loud over the comical descriptions and antics this pseudo-punk band revelled in. I have bought multiple copies of this book that I've given out as gifts, which have been more than duly appreciated. It's a shame that a gem such as this doesn't get more acclaim, but for what it's worth, Jon has a sizable fan base within my social circle. The publisher, Manic D Press, has a trove of impressive titles to choose from... I have discovered a cache of talent, all bearing the Manic D seal of approval. Highly recommended.
