Outstanding Book!!

This book is a collection of articles written by Prof. Manweller for the Ellensburg newspaper and other publications. Between each article are his recents comments on the subject of each article, which keeps the book current. I am a conservative book junkie. This is one of the best I've read in recent times. Dr. Manweller is a master at destroying liberal arguments. It that respect he reminds me somewhat of Michael Medved. He takes on the liberals and takes their arguments apart brick by brick in a kind and gentle way. I especially enjoyed his stories about his encounters with his students and other professors on the CWU faculty. Charles B. Phillips Walla Walla, Washington

A rare conservative (Republican) professor

Manweller gives a first-hand experience of being a Republican on a college campus. I think his book gives real insights on the fact that college professors are about as liberal - far left - as they can be. His sense of humor gave me many belly laughs and is testimony how desparate this country is in the need of more conservative teachers -- the "other" viewpoint. Giving students a variety of opinions is a healthy way to exercise their brains. One sided viewpoints is more like brainwashing.

When you're right........you're right

Great book, thank you Dr. Manweller. It's indescribably refreshing to know there is someone to provide not only balance to the unfounded liberal demagoguery in our public universities, but outright challenge supported by fact. This book is funny, factual, and packs a punch. All conservatives should read this as should any liberal who wants to understand conservatism. I'm likely to steer my kids toward CWU knowing their malleable minds would be under excellent tutelage with Dr. Manweller.

Someone once said that "a teacher affects eternity, he can never tell where his influence stops" - if Mathew Manweller's classes are anything like his book, his students are very lucky and we're luckier still that we'll have the benefit of citizens with hope, common sense and values befitting this great country.
