Shortly before his passing, Pencer put together this account of his life. His roller coaster business career in Montreal, Calgary and Toronto was truly fascinating. The story is spiced with candor and humour. Particularly memorable are two episodes in which he recounts 'potentializing' during business negotiations, to great $ effect. Also very interesting is the substantial content devoted to Pencer's relations with "Mr. President's Choice", Dave Nicol, formerly of the Loblaw grocery empire. For those of you still unsure who Pencer was, do you remember Financial Trust? How about Cott? After reading the book, I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to meet this most dynamic man.
