Tasty stew with complex flavors...

This is a very interesting and enjoyable book. The author is a medical doctor who has been involved in research and service around the world. He recounts the fishing adventures (mainly for trout) he has experienced in the book's chapters. He comes through as a pleasant, modest fellow who takes joy in meeting people and experiencing both the human and natural world. Fishing is the thread but there is much more to the book- including history, geology, and food. Countries he has visited are diverse and include Turkey, Kazakhstan, Chile, Sri Lanka, Switzerland and many others. With each story, you come away feeling that you have just had the pleasure of having a really interesting visitor in your home give you a illuminating, fireside chat.
