As the author of this book, I am not surprised by nor do I dismiss Ms. Sullivan's complaint. the book was written in 1987, "not in this day and age," in a time when the dangers of blood sistering were not as known or understood. In the years 1990-2000, I did over 200 author appearances, and by that time, new concerns WERE emerging. At EVERY appearance, I spoke out against the use of needles for sharing blood. I regret the inclusion in the twenty-year old book. As a child author and advocate, it is not something I would, "in this day and age" EVER consciously recommended. Judith Hollands

A very good children's mystery

I would have enjoyed this book when I was a child. This is a good mystery for all children. Even I, as an adult, enjoyed and appreciated it. The warmth, atmosphere, and storyline was perfect. I would highly recommend it.
