The Remortal and Me

The loss of his father drives a son, who loved him dearly, to the border of madness in which he concocts a scheme to bring his father back from the dead. The son contacts a renegade scientist who recreates the father through 3-dimensional, human bioprinting, in a process termed, "Remortalization". The Remortal is delivered to the son, who discovers that the father is despondent over being brought back to life without his wife and friends. In the end, before the son attempts to destroy him to deliver him back to the dead, the Remortal's remains disintegrate and vanish completely, and suddenly. The son is left with a gift from the scientist, delivered months later: a small vial of the spark of life, sent to him by the scientist.
