In The Remnant: A Symbol of Resistance and Restoration, we examine the presence of the Biblical metaphor of The Remnant or the Root of Jessee, in both the conservative side of the MAGA movement and its use as a symbol and process for the liberal resistance to the MAGA movement.
This book complements my book, Core Beliefs: The Conflict Between Conservative and Liberal America, which examines the nature of symbols and core beliefs and the role they play in a person of society self-identity and can be both the drive and the direction that they take. The example is that of the current apocalyptic movement and its concentration on the "rapture" and "end-times" and more recently "Make America Great Again."
In the 21st century the liberal movement of society faltered under pressure from the conservative wing. The peak was the election and successful presidency of Barack Obama. Followed by Donald Trump and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) Movement. This period became the testing ground of new tactics by the Right. They formally adopted as their primary strategic weapons of conflict, the principle of symbolism propaganda and the tactic known as Gaslighting
