The religion was based on a simple idea: everything good was created by a God who is good, while everything evil owes its existence to a separate, independent and equally powerful God. The religion that flows from this idea started to create a new society, radically different from all others in the Middle Ages - a society that rejected aristocracy, courts, police, contracts, laws, war, oaths, social inequality, monasticism... Women were equal to men - peasants were equal to nobles. Humans were reincarnated until purified - money could be lent for interest. This book explores the reasoning behind this religion, which we know now as Catharism, and how that reasoning began to create a new civilization - one that would be destroyed after less than a century of existence.
