Wonderfully illustrated

"The Red Chalk" is an enthusiastically recommended picturebook for children ages 2 to 5. Featuring a simple, engaging, and entertaining storyline by Iris Van Der Heide, which is wonderfully illustrated by Marije Tolman, "The Red Chalk" is the story of a young girl named Sara who is bored. None of the toys that she has seem to work right. While it is her imaginative trades lead her from one toy to the next, it's her friends that seem to be having all the fun! Finally Sarah comes to understand that it is a creative mind and not any particular toy that is the best way to have fun and to share in the fun with friends. "The Red Chalk" is Iris Van Der Heide's first picturebook for children -- we can only hope it is not her last!
