The Recorder Magazine is aimed at all those interested in the recorder -from professional to amateur, young and old. Published quarterly, each edition covers a broad range of topics reflecting the international recorder community.
This includes articles from leading academics on topics such as new research, historical performance, instrumental developments, technical innovations and pedagogical projects. Features include Interviews with and news of high profile established artists as well as providing a platform for emerging talent. The work of current recorder makers is regularly showcased. Other topics include advice and information on technique from leading educators and practitioners, new compositions and the work of contemporary composers, arranging music and conducting in a variety of settings. Different genres such as folk, jazz and rock feature alongside more traditional recorder repertoire Comprehensive reviews of some of the latest recordings and sheet music publications. There are news sections from both the Society of Recorder Players and the European Recorder Teachers Association. Each issue contains a new composition written for TRM alongside an interview with the composer.
