The life of Abraham, one of what he learnt in his encounter with God is the way of ascension through altars. He literally lived on altars, if you noticed most of the things Abraham received are direct instructions given to him in the place of encounters. If you noticed, he didn't initiate the first encounter he had with God, but he knew what to do to keep the presence of God. After the first encounter he had with God, he built an altar and that altar became a vet, a gang way from heaven to the earth. Through that encounter, he knew how to access the realm of God. The relationship Abraham had with God became a progressive journey. It was no longer an encounter of once in a while because God choose to visit him. It became occasions he could transact through a deliberate spiritual process and a protocol initiated by the wisdom he had because of his encounters and interaction he had with God. After he encounter Melchizedek and we saw that he validated the substance he gleaned when he encountered God. He showed Abraham that for him to dominate in the marketplace of nations he must always have an encounter with the spirit of Elohim. He had to meet Melchizedek before meeting the king of Sodom. Abraham knew not just to train soldiers; he would have been handicap; but this time he had gained maturity in the ways of God. He was able to negotiate not only in the tables of nations but in the throne room of God where the court is set and the Governors over the earth seat to judge cases.
