Good friends Professor Roger Strong and Sheriff Joey Bucket are attending a party in a luxury apartment that was formerly a bank when they suddenly find that they are on the site of a murder. University deans might hold essential clues, and the sheriff enlists the assistance of his academic friend in solving the crime. As Dr. Strong labors to build a rat rod by dropping an Oldsmobile V8 engine into a Ford Model A roadster, he and the sheriff are confronted with a second murder. Roger installs the parts of his hot rod, and the clues to the murders fall into place, but only the surprise ending will reveal whether the guilty will be identified.
