A mysterious young man is found unconscious outside a hospital in a small town. He is admitted and refuses to talk to the medical personnel. He is placed within the psych ward, where Dr. Emily Richards, a psychiatrist, gets assigned to him. She begins her evaluation, only to discover that he is far different from any other patient, she has ever had. Her cryptic patient is very intelligent, but more than that, he knows far more than he should. As the two begin to discuss and open to each other, the mysterious man slowly reveals what he knows about Emily and the mystery surrounding her missing parents. This prompts a flurry of events in which Emily discovers that her patient may be manipulating her at every turn, or worse, he is what he says he is.
