The Psychological Activity Cycles

In this book, human psychological activities are viewed as a series of cycles in different sizes and lengths. Causative input messages from external and internal sources are processed against norms / values to produce resultant output that feeds back into the system, along with new input messages, as causative input of the next moment, forming a feedback loop. From a mood perspective, we start from a calm, quiet state, engage in a series of cognitive, emotional, and will activities in different degrees of excitement / complexity, and return to the calm, quiet state to complete a mood cycle. In the book, the author constructed an array of theoretical models to harness the characteristics of psychological components and activities within, across, and in relation to the psychological cycles. And all cycles operate on hedonphilia, the tendency that favors hedonia (good emotions), lessens unhedonia (bad emotions), achieves imperatia (high will), follows placidia (low will), and runs neutralia (without obvious emotions and will). Hedonphilia is the primary driving force behind all psychological activities and a core theory that runs throughout the book. The book starts with the definitions of 5 neurological terms, i.e., senses, cognition, emotions, will, and behavior, which serve as the theoretical foundation. It then evolves, from bottom to top and from inside out, into a structure of self-contained, vertically integrated, and horizontally inclusive psychological theory. Since the book was built solely upon basic neurological concepts and grew exclusively from within, referencing existing psychological theories / notions is not necessary. The book could be too "revolutionary" for people who are entrenched in the existing psychological theories. But for those who are open to building / shifting their paradigms in psychology, it could be an eye-opening, thought-provoking, and meaningful learning experience.
