The protection of children's personal data online

The digital environment is playing an increasingly important role in most aspects of children's lives. It offers new opportunities for the realization of children's rights but also carries risks of violating the child's personal data. In order to ensure the protection of children's personal data, Cameroon has adopted a comprehensive legal framework consisting of national and international texts. However, despite this legal framework, the fact remains that the protection of the child's personal data is deficient due to numerous observed failures. It is therefore urgent for the Cameroonian legislator to deeply rethink and implement strong measures aimed at strengthening the protection of children online.
